Report of 2019 NTUPH Camp

Activity time: July 8th-12th, 2019

Activity place: Public Health Building and Main Campus of National Taiwan University

Public Health Camp (PH Camp) is a camp for promoting public health spirit to high school student, held by the Department of Public health of National Taiwan University (NTUDPH) every summer vacation. The topic this year is about sustainable energy, aiming to explore how to reach a balance between energy utilization and sustainable development. The camp not only invited professors in the College of Public Health to give lectures, but also arranged site visits to water plant and laboratories, and analyze data using statistical software. During these activities, high school students could have more understanding of public health, including the human-oriented concept and the effort paid by public health workers. Moreover, the camp held several interesting activities which corresponded to the rich lecture contents. The students could come up with the health policy about sustainable development through teamwork when playing the role as the decision-maker of media, government, and Taiwan Power Company in the hypothesized scenario.

Freshman and sophomore of NTUDPH have organized this annual event for almost one year, and finally make PH Camp ended successfully. Thanks for all the effort paying by students and the assistance from professors. We believe the seeds of public health spirit will grow up within all the high school students.
